I believe this story aired back in 2002 when I was working for KUTV (CBS). Please forgive the extra video at the end of the story....

In August 1889 a group of Hawaiian pioneers settled in Skull Valley, Utah. My great-grandfather, John K N Mahoe was one of those original settlers. They built a township and named it Iosepa in honer of Joseph F. Smith a former Hawaiian missionary and prophet of the LDS church. I made this blog to keep family and friends updated with my progress on a documentary film about Iosepa and those who lived there.
